RECOMMENDATION
Discuss and consider the Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District entering into a contract amendment with the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) in the amount of $81,636 for the period 1/1/2016 through 12/31/2016 to control and prevent Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) and HIV/AIDS; and authorize the Director of the Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District to sign on behalf of Nueces County.
BACKGROUND
The contract amendment will allow the budget funding categories of the grant contract to be reduced and re-allocated from personnel and fringes that were not able to be spent because of the STD-HIV Public Health Manager position vacancy to budget expense categories that can be used to spend for other expenses to continue services for the control and prevention of STDs. as well as, HIV/AIDS.
DISCUSSION
The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District is in receipt of Contract Amendment No. 2016-001347-01 to conduct programs to control and prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases (STD’s) including human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS) and viral hepatitis. The Contract amendment is in the amount of $81,636 which is a reduction of $6,124 from the original grant contract amount of $87,760. DSHS has allowed the reduction of $6,124 for the current grant funding period to be added to the proposed grant contract funding for the period of 1/1/2017 through 12/31/2017.
