Ratify execution of Grant Adjustment Notice for FY10 Operation Stonegarden
Monica Reyes, Grants Department
Ratify the execution of a Grant Adjustment Notice with the Texas Department of Public Safety for the FY 2010 Operation Stonegarden grant award.
The United States Department of Homeland Security awarded OPSG-10 grant monies to the Texas Division of Emergency Management (Recipient) on August 1, 2010 for distribution among the counties. On May 20, 2011, the Texas Division of Emergency Management awarded Nueces County (Sub-recipient) a total of $682,448.00. Nueces County executed the Sub-recipient Agreement and Terms and Conditions to acknowledge acceptance of the award on June 15, 2011.
The approved budget will cover operational overtime, fringe benefits, vehicles, laptops, radars, and other related equipment. The original grant period was from August 1, 2010 through July 31, 2012. The County requested an extension for the grant period. The Texas Department of Public Safety prepared the 2010 Grant Adjustment Notice, which extended the grant period to December 31, 2012 and was ratified by the Commissioners Court on January 2, 2013.
The FY 2010 Operation Stonegarden grant ended on December 31, 2012. This Grant Adjustment Notice serves as a closeout document and reflects the actual amount spent on project activities, which totaled $492,780.82, which is $189,667.18 less than the total award.
There was no cash match required for this grant. A short deadline for the return of this document was provided; therefore, the County Judge’s signature was promptly needed, causing this item to become a ratification.
