Discuss and consider approval of Grant Adjustment Notice No. 6 from the Homeland Security Grant Program for Operation Stonegarden.
Nueces County was awarded $600,000 for the 2012 OPSG Grant. The 2012 OPSG grant is the first grant that the SAA funds in increments rather than as a whole. The County received the first increment in the amount of $129,977.90 and was signed by the Judge on 08/29/13. The County received the second increment in the amount of $133,102.61 and was signed by the Judge on 12/03/13. The third increment in the amount of $197,567.50 was signed by the Judge on 01/22/14.
This Grant Adjustment Notice is to accept the fourth and last installment in the amount of $139,351.99., making the total grant amount $600,000.
This Grant Adjustment Notice also extends the performance end date from February 28, 2014 to May 31, 2014.
The Sheriff's Office had a meeting with all the agencies involved with this grant on February 5, 2014. It was reiterated to all of the agencies the importance of expending all of the funds in a timely manner and our expectations for timely reimbursement submittals. All agencies are currently utilizing their funds and the Sheriff's Office should start seeing more reimbursement packets soon.
