Submitted By: Natalie Eckstrom, Grants Department
Department: Grants Department

Ratify the submission of a grant application to the Tocker Foundation for the Texas Library Association Conference stipend assistance.
The Tocker Foundation began in 1964 to implement the philanthropic interests of Phillip and Olive Tocker. After years of supporting a wide range of community-based causes, the foundation discovered a need in small, rural, Texas libraries serving populations of 12,000 or less. In 1992 the foundation board then began focusing their grant distribution in this way. The foundation partners with community libraries to meet the particular needs of the community.
The Tocker Foundation solicited applications for agencies looking to offset costs associated with sending staff members to the annual Texas Library Association conference, which is being hosted in Dallas for 2018.

The grant application requested funding in the amount of $1,700 and there is no match required. This will cover the costs of sending one library staff member to the conference, which include registration fees, hotel expenses, per diem, and travel/mileage expenses.
