Health Information Coordinator Reclassification
Dina Chavez, Health Department
Consider and approve re-classifying the Health Information Coordinator (grade 215) to a Health Information Tech I position (grade 203). This reclassification has been reviewed and approved by Human Resources.
1115 Waiver Grant program is currently in a transitionary year 2017 and is currently in the process of implementing and modifying new and existing programs. The Health Information Exchange program will be combined with Diabetes Education and the Patient Navigators program as a technical resource. Interlocal agreements are in the renewal process, providing the ability to meet 1115 Waiver metric requirements in the upcoming 2018 and 2019 years. The Health Information Coordinators position is best reclassified as a resource for Diabetes Self-Management Education and Patient Navigators programs to utilize as assistance in tracking and inputting data into the Health Information Exchange system, where later it is extracted for bi-annual reporting purposes. The function of the Health Information Tech 1 position is to assist in uploading data, collecting data, cleaning data, working at different Partner sites, implementing new software onto existing hardware for the HIE system to utilize for reporting purposes.
Re-classifying the Health Information Coordinator position would not require any additional funding from the 1115 Waiver.
