Discuss and consider a request to reclassify and unfreeze the following positions in Department 1500 - Mechanical Maintenance: Electrician to Electrical Systems Technician II and Communications Maintenance Technician to Electrical Systems Technician I.
Delete the Electrician position (pay group 19 - $33,446.40) and create the new position of Electrical Systems Technician II (pay group 21 - $36,712.00), with an annual increase of $4,082.00 for salary and benefits and unfreeze position after Commissioner's Court approval. Delete the Communications Maintenance Technician (pay group 19 - $33,446.40) and create the new position of Electrical Systems Technician I (pay group 17 - $30,430.40), with an annual decrease of $3,770.00 for salary and benefits and unfreeze position after Commissioner's Court approval.
The position of Electrical Systems Technician II (Public Works - Mechanical Maintenance 1500) under general supervision, is responsible for the installation, diagnosis, and repairing of electrical systems in county buildings, including jail facilities. Performs other maintenance duties as needed, including work on various control systems, heating and air conditioning system and plumbing. The position of Electrical Systems Technician I (Public Works - Mechanical Maintenance 1500) under supervision assists with installation, diagnosis and repairing of electrical systems in county buildings including jail facilities.
