RECOMMENDATION
Discuss and consider approval of an agreement with Progressive Structures, Inc. for IFB No. 3026-16 the Renovations to the old Social Services Office space for the IT Department.
BACKGROUND
Scope of work for the project consists of partial removal of existing interior partitions, doors, millwork, ceilings, hvac diffusers and ductwork, electrical outlets and lighting fixtures as indicated on the drawings. New construction shall consist of new metal stud drywall partitions, doors and frames, millwork, painting and carpeting and base. Modifications shall be made to the existing ceiling, light fixtures and switch locations, electrical plugs, data and communication boxes and fire alarm system. All finishes shall match the existing building finishes. All MEP and Fire Alarm improvements shall tie into and be compatible with existing building systems. Alternate Bid No. 1 is the removal of the existing concealed spline acoustical ceiling. Furnish and install a new 2’ x 2’ acoustical tile ceiling.
DISCUSSION
The Scope of Work set out in IFB No. 3026-16 RENOVATIONS TO OLD SOCIAL SERVICES OFFICE SPACE FOR THE IT DEPARTMENT has been modified reducing the cost from the bid amount of $161,085 to $148,685. Negotiated Scope of Work is as follows: 1: Doors 101 and 109 will be 3'- 0" x 7'- 0" solid core plastic laminate. Delete all aluminum storefront. Delete requirement for 4'- 0" wide doors. 2: Delete the following doors and leave a 3'- 0" wide x floor to ceiling opening at each location: Doors 102, 103, 104, 106, 107, 110, 113, 114, 117, 118. 3: Keep doors (frames and hardware at Doors 105, 111, 112, 116, 4: Shorten sink cabinet to 6'- 0" long. 5: Delete sink & plumbing. (Leave knee space in cabinet so a sink could be added later). 6: Change quantities and locations of electrical receptacles and IT stub ups per the attachment. Also includes circuiting of areas as identified in the attachment. 7: Includes demolition of the existing 1' x 1' suspended ceiling system and replacement with a standard 2' x 2' lay-in suspended ceiling. 8: Includes maglocks and related access control for doors 101 and 109. AlarmFX will install maglocks, proximity reader, exit button, and controls as needed at each door. The work will be compatible with the existing Honeywell NetAXS system, and programming the additions is included. The electrician will provide stub ups as necessary for wire concealment within walls. AlarmFX completed a walk thru and identified a closet with an existing receptacle to locate their control panel.
