Hurricane Ike Reimbursement Update
Danielle Hale, Emergency Management
Receive an update on Hurricane Ike reimbursement related to Bob Hall Pier.
The scope of work for Bob Hall Pier repairs related to Hurricane Ike (2008) was based on an appeal transmitted in a letter dated April 23, 2010. In response to this appeal, FEMA determined the scope of work identified in the report by Goldstone Engineering as appropriate to restore the pier to pre-disaster condition. However, during the completion of repairs, TopCor Services exceeded the quantity of repairs that were identified in the scope of work and made repairs that were not associated with the declared disaster event. Due to limitations of FEMA programmatic allowances, reimbursement for services performed by TopCor Services will be reduced by $60,573.68. All other costs have been validated.
The project worksheet was written based on estimate of $177,322.64. FEMA has validated $451,506.38 creating a cost over-run in the amount of $274,183.74. An amendment has been written, reviewed and processed to obligate the additional amount.
Nueces County will appeal this determination pursuant to Title 44 CFR §206.206, Appeals, to the Texas Division of Emergency Management within 60 days.
