Justice Benefits, Inc (JBI) agreement with Nueces County Juvenile Board
Deanna Saldana, Juvenile Department
Accept the award and execution of an agreement between Justice Benefits, Inc. (JBI) and the Nueces County Juvenile Board as approved by the Juvenile Board.
The original agreement between JBI and the Juvenile Board was executed back in 2006 to provide the Juvenile Probation Department assistance in receiving Federal Financial Participation (FFP) through Title IV-E administrative reimbursement claims. In 2011, the Juvenile Probation Department decided to discontinue claiming Title IV-E administrative reimbursement claims due to the new guideline set forth by the federal government. The amount of work increased and the amount being reimbursed decreased considerably.
A new agreement was created and reviewed by the Nueces County Attorney office. Agreement was approved by both County Attorney office and Purchasing Department as a sole source contract. The new JBI agreement was approved by the Juvenile Board and executed on November 20, 2014.
This agreement will increase revenue in our Special Revenue funds- Department 1317 -TJJD Title IV-E.
JBI charges will be based on a 15% fee from the revenue received from Title IV-E administrative claim reimbursements.
