RECOMMENDATION
Approve execution of an agreement with RAM-BRO Contracting, Inc. for IFB 2958-14 Upper Oso Drainage Improvements Project.
BACKGROUND
The scope of the project consists of constructing a detention pond/wetland habitat for the purpose of drainage improvements. The wetland habitat construction will consist of a detention pond/wetland habitat approximately 15 acres in area, timber bridge crossings, timber observation decks which include educational features, a walking trail around the detention pond and a walking path to and from the Fairgrounds parking lot. The Base Bid consists of providing all labor, material and equipment for the construction of the base bid items including but not limited to: crushed limestone walking trail, excavation and hauling of excavated material, entry monument, kiosks, mile markers, timber bridges, viewing platform, seating benches, trash baskets, solar lamp assemblies and foundations, wooden fence, plants and watering, seeding, handicap signs, and striping, along with all stormwater pollution prevention measures and traffic control, all in accordance with drawings and specifications.

This Bid also contains Additive Alternate Bids consisting of:

Additive Alternate #1: consists of providing all labor, material and equipment for the addition of two (2) kiosks and two (2) viewing platforms, all in accordance with drawings and specifications.

Additive Alternate #2: consists of providing all labor, material and equipment for the addition of five (5) seating benches (treated wood), five (5) trash baskets, and five (5) solar lamp assemblies with foundations, all in accordance with drawings and specifications.

Additive Alternate #3: consists of providing all labor, material and equipment for the addition of three hundred forty-five (345) cubic yards of crushed limestone walking trail, all in accordance with drawings and specifications.

Additive Alternate #4: consists of providing Plants in Wetland area.
DISCUSSION
On June 4, 2014 the Court awarded the project for the base bid work only at a cost of $974,291.97.  The funding source is 1915 CO funds from Commissioner Pct. 3 Channel Maintenance funds (2504).
