Sub-Grantee Agreement with Bays & Estuaries for Colonial Waterbird

Discuss and consider execution of a sub-grantee agreement between Nueces County and Coastal Bend Bays and Estuaries Program (CBBEP) for Grant #F13AF00042 from U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for the Colonial Nesting Waterbird Enhancement Project, part of the Coastal Impact Assistance Program (CIAP) grant program.
On November 27, 2012, the Commissioners Court accepted Grant #F13AF00042 from U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for the Colonial Nesting Waterbird Enhancement Project, part of the Coastal Impact Assistance Program (CIAP) grant program.
The purpose of this project is to sub-award county CIAP funds to Coastal Bend Bays and Estuaries Program (CBBEP) to manage, protect, and enhance colonial waterbird populations including Pelicans, Roseatte Spoonbills, Terns, Egrets, Herons, etc. The project will include habitat enhancement and restoration, public education, and nesting success monitoring.
The total amount of the grant award is $165,154 and there is no match required. The grant period is from September 20, 2012 through December 31, 2015. All grant funds will pass through to CBBEP in exchange for CBBEP performing all tasks as required by the grant and as incorporated into the sub-grantee agreement.
