Discuss results of physical security audit conducted on the Juvenile Justice Center; authorize purchase of security devices to upgrade and enhance the overall security of the facility.
Members of the American Society for Industrial Security International, Texas Gulf Coast Chapter No. 108, conducted a physical security assessment on the Juvenile Justice Center. A sub-group consisting of Judge Neal; Homer Flores, Chief Juvenile Probation Officer; Miles Toren, Assistant Chief Juvenile Probation Officer; Glen Sullivan, Director Public Works; Danielle Hale, Emergency Management Coordinator; Lance Esswein, Risk Manager; and Steve Waterman, Director Commissioners Court Administration; met several times to review the results of the assessment, obtain cost estimates for upgrades, and to recommend work to be done to improve the security of the Center.
The estimated cost of the recommended work is approximately $68,500. Funding for the work will come from 2007 C.O. funds set aside for the Juvenile Justice Center.
