Commissioners Court - Regular
TexFile - Tyler Technologies
Gerald Garza, District Clerk
Ratify/Approve the Participation Agreement and related forms with Tyler Technologies as they relate to TexFile, the new efiling system in the Office of the Nueces County District Clerk.
In December 2012, the Texas Supreme Court mandated electronic filing in civil cases in district courts, statutory county courts, constitutional county courts and statutory probate courts on a graduated schedule from January 2014 through July 2016. For Nueces County, this mandate takes effect on July 1, 2014. After that date, all court filings in Nueces County, with a few exceptions, will be required to be filed thru an electronic filing portal (TexFile).
Since the Office of Court Administration selected TexFile as the unified statewide electronic court filing portal for Texas’ courts, all counties currently accepting electronic filing (including Nueces County’s Tex.gov) began a transition to TexFile beginning in September 2013. Nueces County's current court filing portal, Tex.gov, originally planned on participating in this transition until March of 2014; recently however, they have modified this plan and will cease to accept filings after November 30, 2013. On that date, the only filing portal available to Nueces County filers will be TexFile.
