Submission of Juvenile Drug Court Grant application

Discuss and consider adopting a resolution authorizing the submission of grant application to the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division for the Juvenile Drug Court Program Grant #2530403.
This grant provides professional counseling services, psychological evaluations and structured community supervision to youth referred to the Juvenile Drug Court Program. Services include weekly alcohol and drug testing, judicial interaction, access alcohol and drug related treatment and rehabilitative services, partnerships with public and community agencies.
To continue to provide counseling, drug and alcohol education and monitoring of abstinence of participating juvenile population. Additionally, the program will continue to involve the family members of these offenders to help them improve communication, increase parental control and deal with alcohol and substance abuse issues.
The amount requested in the grant application is $35,000.00. Grantees must provide matching funds of at least 10% of the total project expenditures. This requirement must be met through cash contributions and will be funded from special revenue funds, Juvenile Probation Fees - Department 1321 in the amount of $3,888.88.
