Commissioners Court Admin
Discuss and consider adoption of resolution approving amendments to the Nueces County Guidelines and Criteria for Granting Temporary Property Tax Abatements.
The Commissioners Court last adopted Guidelines and Criteria for Granting Temporary Property Tax Abatements on June 27, 2012. Under Chapter 312 of the Texas Tax Code such Guidelines and Critera remain in effect for two years.
In discussing the requirements and conditions of the Guidelines and Criteria for Granting Temporary Property Tax Abatements with M&G Resins, some ambiguities and improvements in the documents were identified. Definitions for several terms used in the document have been added to clarify the meaning of the terms.
Under Chapter 312 of the Texas Tax Code adopted guidelines and criteria remain in effect for two years from the date adopted. During that period the guidelines and criteria may be amended or repealed only by a vote of three-fourths of the members of the govening body.
Attached are a black-lined draft and final draft of the proposed amendments to the Guidelines and Critera for Granting Temporary Property Tax Abatements.
