RECOMMENDATION
Adopt a resolution authorizing the submission of an application to the Office of the Attorney General for the Other Victim Assistance Grant program.
BACKGROUND
The purpose of this program through the Attorney General’s Office is to provide funds, using a competitive allocation method, to programs that address the unmet needs of victims by maintaining or increasing their access to quality services.
DISCUSSION
The District Attorney’s Office would like to apply for this grant in order to create a new position a crime victim restitution analyst for their office. This position would primarily be responsible for assisting victims with the crime victim’s compensation fund applications, processing restitution requests for victims directly, processing restitution requests for the Office of the Attorney General-Victims of Crime Fund, tracking and reporting restitution requested and ordered to the County Auditor and the Office of the Attorney General, respectively.

The grant period for this grant is up to two years beginning September 1, 2019 through August 31, 2021. The funding amount for both years is $42,000.00.

There is no match required.
