Warranty for the Rehabilitated Roof at the Polston Building

RECOMMENDATION
Discuss and consider approval to sign and accept the roof repair and rehabilitation warranty from DLJ Commercial Roofing LLC (DLJ) at the Polston Building.
BACKGROUND
A section of the roof at the Juvenile Detention Center was leaking causing severe problems for the occupants and the public. DLJ was issued Purchase Order #361905 for $17,980.00 on October 18, 2018.
DISCUSSION
The leaking roof was a health and safety issue and after determining the best fit repair and rehabilitation solution, quotes were solicited under a scope of work from qualified contractors. DLJ was awarded the contract and issued a PO. The company applied a sealant on about 4030 sq ft. of the roof.  The sealant is a weather and water-resistant chemical coating going by the trade name MPCU coating. The work was properly completed, and the contractor was paid in January 2019.  To the best of our knowledge we have not had any complaints regarding water leaks from the rehabilitated area. The roof repair work comes with a 15-year limited warranty for future repairs under conditions defined in the warranty. This request is for Commissioners Court to approve signing the warranty document.
